Large scale electrical grid connections were historically provided by the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) who, as the only provider, offered non-negotiable - and often prohibitively expensive - quotes to connect businesses to the grid.

Now the rules have changed. As an Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO), Vattenfall can connect businesses to the grid in any area of the UK and offer businesses cash back for new grid connections known as 'Asset Adoption Value' payments.

Asset Adoption Value payments are paid by Vattenfall to business for adopting the required electrical infrastructure for a new grid connection – and can significantly reduce the cost of connecting to the grid. Plus, Vattenfall can often accelerate the grid connection process, helping to avoid delays and secure reliable power as quickly as possible.

If you are not confident about managing the grid application process Vattenfall IDNO provide free initial grid connection project assessments to help you understand the process and potential pitfalls, and can even manage the entire process of securing a new grid connection on your behalf.

Join us online at 11am on the 16th of October to learn how the IDNO grid connection process works and how we recently helped a wood recycling company secure a new grid connection which included an Asset Adoption Value which more than covered the total cost of the connection ‘contestable works’ works, making a significant reduction to the overall costs of the project.
